In the month of March we celebrate National Breakfast Week, and what better way to honor the holiday of my favorite meal than to share with you my new crush, Kellogg’s® Frosted Mini-Wheats®! When putting together your breakfast meal, there are likely a few different components, types of food and nutrients, like ever popular protein, you think of first. Fiber is such an important nutrient to help support digestive health and overall wellness, and, unfortunately, often gets overlooked. I know, I know, fiber may not seem like the most exciting topic, but I can’t stress enough its importance and how it deserves more than the “quick fix” you may get from a pill or powder.
Did you know Kellogg’s Frosted Mini-Wheats is an easy, convenient and a super delicious way to help you get the fiber you need? I feel my best when I start my day with the right nutrients, especially fiber, which is why Frosted Mini-Wheats have become my go-to. One serving gets me at least 20% of the recommended daily amount of fiber, and when I add a fruit, I boost fiber even more. One of my favorite ways to enjoy cereal is with milk and fruit. Even when it’s cold out, there is something so comforting about a crunchy bowl of cereal.
I talk to so many people who think they need to use a fiber supplement, whether to help support digestive health or during periods of travel when fibrous food feels less accessible, but a powdered fiber supplement doesn’t hold a candle to being able to chew and enjoy fiber by eating real food. Let’s face it, choking down a grainy powder or paying for expensive supplements to get your fiber is way less desirable than enjoying a satisfying serving of cereal. Not only is a supplement less desirable, but it doesn’t provide the additional vitamins and minerals you would get from a whole grain food that contains fiber. High-fiber cereal, for example, can also provide important nutrients like B vitamins and iron.
Outside of breakfast, there are so many others ways to enjoy cereal while increasing your intake of fiber, vitamins and minerals, too. When I travel, I always plan space in my bag for snacks… your girls loooooooves her snacks! Recently I have been making my own mix of nuts, dried fruit, and Frosted Mini-Wheats. It helps me get the fiber I need while traveling in a tasty treat that is easy to grab and go.
I know you will love Frosted Mini-Wheats as much as I do, and I would love to hear all of the creative ways you enjoy them! Leave a comment below to share you favorite way to eat Frosted Mini-Wheats and give us all additional inspo for incorporating it into our routine.
